"MATZ ON SPORTS" FOR AUGUST

Most of the area summer sports teams have wrapped things up for 2008. Reedsburg's Senior Legion Baseball team won 15 games this summer and were one victory away from a trip to state. The Baraboo Bandits Legion squad also had some big moments this summer including two wins over Reedsburg. Sauk-Prairie and Wisconsin Dells also had some highlight victories this summer.

The Reedsburg Junior Legion Baseball team qualified for the state tournament and won 19 games this summer. Baraboo's 14-year old Babe Ruth Baseball team and Sauk Prairie's 15-year old Babe Ruth squad also reached the state tournament level.

In Home Talent Baseball, the Sauk-Prairie Twins and Reedsburg Pirates have been the top two Northern section teams all year in the Sunday League with playoffs starting soon. Reedsburg is also unbeaten in the Home Talent Night League.

The points battle in all the racing divisions at the Dells raceway are heating up with just a few weeks remaining in the schedule.
