The 2013 season produced a winning record for the Baraboo Thunderbird boys soccer team and that squad was recognized last night at the awards banquet. Baraboo posted a 9-7-3 record overall this season and they were 2-2-1 in the Badger North season highlighted by a first ever win against Waunakee and a late season win over a Sauk-Prairie team that was state ranked early in the season. Matt Brooks was named as the Most Improved player with Nick Mc Donald the Rookie Of The Yea. Senior Ian Krszjzanek was chosen as Top Defensive Player and Doug Mc Donald was selected as the Top Midfielder. Senior TJ Laux took home the most hardware, winning the Golden Boot award with the most goals and total points, Top Offensive Player honors and the team MVP for the 2013 season. Laux was selected as an all-league first team player in Badger North at the midfield position with Tyler Vorndran at Forward and Brandon Bowers on Defense representing Baraboo on the second team all-league squad with Doug Mc Donald at Midfield and Ian Krszjzanek on Defense as Honorable Mention selections. The 2013 season marks the end of a five-year run as head coach for Sean Breitzman who steps away from the program after a successful run, moving to the Green Bay area to pursue other opportunities.
