Area high school girls volleyball players are on the floor this week as the pre-season has begun. Sheila Green is a new head coach in Reedsburg, starting up her second career stint as the main coach of the program but Alyse Karls at Baraboo, Elenor Engleby at Sauk-Prairie and Cyndi Collins at Wisconsin Dells all return along with Jane Briehl at River Valley. River Valley won the SWC title last fall but four first team all-leaguers, a second team all-leaguer and an all-league honorable menti0n player all have graduated including SWC Player Of The Year Brooke Gilbertson, Hannah Buringa, Mikayla Kerska, Sydney Clarson, Mackenzie Price and Morgan Johnson. August 27th marks the season opener for Baraboo at the Fort Atkinson Triangular, for Sauk-Prairie at Stoughton, for Wisconsin Dells at Oregon with Weston at the Cashton Triangular as well. Reedsburg hosts Stoughton on August 29th with Portage at the Janesville Craig Invite August 30th and 31st.
