Baraboo’s Jess Carignan closed out a tremendous high school softball career on Tuesday by taking part in the Wisconsin Fast Pitch Softball Coaches Association All-Star Series in Wisconsin Dells. Carignan was a member of the Red team in D-1 and in game one, Carignan played in left-field and was 0×2 at the plate but also was hit by a pitch and walked in the other two at-bats. Carignan pitched five innings in relief in the second game for the Red team and allowed three runs, two earned, on six hits with one hit batter and walked no one and struck out no one and also was 0×2 offensively. Carignan will go to school and play softball at UW-La Crosse in the fall. Waunakee’s Allie Taylor and Portage’s Kaitlin Schultz and Amanda Elsing were other Badger North players taking part in Tuesday’s All-Star series. The D-1 games were played at Veterans Park with the games involving D-2, D-3 andD-4 players taking place at Kaminski Park.
