Samantha Terry Of Baraboo High School Wins Miss Basketball Award For 2013 From The WBCA

For the first time ever, a Baraboo High School player is the winner of the prestigous Miss Basketball award as Sam Terry has been selected as the recipient for the 2012-2013 season with the award presented annually by the Wisconsin Basketball Coaches Association. Terry scored over 18 points per game with nearly nine rebounds per contest with three steals per game this season in leading the Thunderbirds to a 21-4 record and a second outright Badger North title in three years. The Senior standout is a four-time all-league first team player in Badger North, a two-time all-state first team player for Division Two as determined by the WBCA and finished her high school career with 1,376 points. Terry has signed on to play next season for Coach Kevin Borseth and the UW-Green Bay women’s program, a team currently ranked in the top 25 in the nation. The Miss Basketball award was first awarded by the WBCA in 1982 and goes annually to the top Senior girls basketball player in the State. Associated Press will announce their all-state girls basketball teams and Player Of The Year award on March 19th or 20th.
