Boys Basketball: Badger North-Reedsburg 58 Baraboo 29, Reedsburg pulled away over the final three periods after a close first quarter of action. Reedsburg got their running game going and Baraboo’s 24 turnovers helped Reedsburg get some easy baskets as they sweep the regular season series from the Thunderbirds. Capreace Salinas scored 20 points for Reedsburg who is now 6-4 in the conference and 12-8 overall. No one had more than six points for Baraboo who falls to 0-10 in Badger North and 1-18 overall. Baraboo plays at unbeaten Wisconsin Dells Monday in a game that was moved from another date earlier in the season to the Monday time slot.

Waunakee 58 Sauk-Prairie 35-Waunakee outscores Sauk in each quarter to go 10-0 in the conference while Sauk falls to 3-8 and 10-10 overall. Jake Fiene was the lone double figure scorer for Sauk with 15 points and Will Decorah had 24 for Waunakee.

Mount Horeb 58 Portage 57-Isiah Lesure’s shot at the buzzer wins it for Mount Horeb, their second win of the season over Portage. Daniel Beck scores 18 and Matt Bare 15 for 4-6 Portage with Mount Horeb now 7-4 in the conference, good for second place.

Girls Basketball: Badger North-Waunakee 68 Sauk-Prairie 58-Waunakee pulls away in the final period, holding Sauk to just seven points in the quarter with Waunakee now 8-2 in leauge play with Sauk losing their sixth straight Badger North game to fall to 1-9 and 6-12 overall. Georgia Breunig scored 14 and Lindsay Sauer 13 for the Eagles with Sam Murray at 14 for the Warriors.

South-Central Conference-Wisconsin Dells 53 Mauston 39-Dells avenages an earlier loss to the Golden Eagles with a balanced effort as five players scored between 8 and 12 points with Jaden Ward and Hunter Hickey scoring 12 each and Marissa Fernandez ten for the Dells girls who are now 4-3 in the conference with Mauston 1-7 depsite 27 points from Andrea Thomas.

Adams 45 Westfield 33-Adams takes over the conference lead by themselves at 6-1 with Westfield 5-2.

Scenic Bluffs Conference-Hillsboro 54 Bangor 51, Hillsboro loses a nine-point lead in the fourth quarter but comes back to win in OT to stay in the league race at 7-4 and that’s Bangor’s record as well. Hilary Stanek scores 19 and Sam Levy 16 for the Tigers.

Royall 31 Wonewoc-Center 28-Royall stays in a share of the conference lead at 8-3 with Brookwood while Wonewoc slips to 1-8.

SWC-Dodgeville 58 River Valley 40, River Valley remains winless in league play at 0-9

Ridge and Valley Conference-Seneca 57 Weston 26

Boys Hockey: Badger North-RWD 4 Waunakee 1, the win leaves RWD with a final league record of 2-4 and it gives the Sauk-Prairie Coop the outright Badger North title at 4-2 as Waunakee ends the conference season 3-3. Cortland Maxfield scored two goals and had two assists for Reedsburg-Wisconsin Dells with Jordan Bill and Ashton Mace the other goal scorers while Tyler Arneson had 21 saves. RWD is now 12-11 overal and will play at Kettle Moraine today.

Non-Conference-Sauk-Prairie Coop 15 Monroe 4, the state’s leading goal scorer, Luke Mc Elhenie, had five goals and four assists for Sauk with Matt Streber and Jacob Free each scoring two goals. Sauk is now 12-10-1 overall and they are the outright Badger North champions for this season.

Girls Hockey: Black River Falls Coop 4 Badger Thunder 2-Rachel Pawlak’s two second period goals tied the score at 2-2 after two periods for the Thunder but Black RiverĀ  Falls had three power play goals to get the win as the Thunder ends the regular season at 7-15-2 overall with WIAA Tournament play next week.
