Boys Hockey: Baraboo-Portage wins 3rd place in the Culvers Cup in Madison with a 3-2 win over Madison Memorial. TJ Laux, Steve Mordini and Brett Mc Cutchin scored goals for the Baraboo group with Sean Mc Cutchin making 18 saves in net. Baraboo-Portage is now 6-3 and they’ll host Oregon Thursday. Monona Grove wins the Culvers Cup title.

Reedsburg-Wisconsin Dells wins 5th place in the Monk’s Cheeseburger Classic in Lake Delton with a 3-2 win over Beaver Dam. Ashton Mace and Sean Teske scored power play goals with Teske’s the game-winner and Jesse Greenwood also scored. RWD is now 8-4 overall with Stoughton next up on Friday. Kenosha won the tournament title.

Sauk-Prairie’s Coop places 3rd in the Spooner Holiday Tourney with a 6-3 win over Spooner. Matt Streber scored three goals for a hat trick, Luke Mc Elhenie had two goals and three assists and Jacob Free had four assists for the 9-6 Sauk squad who plays Mc Farland Friday.

Girls Hockey: Badger Thunder wins the 7th place game at the Culvers Cup in Madison with a 6-0 win over Point-Rapids. Kathryn VanderSchaaf scored two goals with Leigh Stawinoga, Rachel Pawlak, Kayla D’Asto and Carley Bill also scoring goals and Jamie Dutton had 18 saves for the shutout. The Thunder is now 3-8 and they play at Rock County Saturday. Brookfield Glacier wins the tourney title in Madison.

Wrestling: Baraboo 11th in D-1 at the Bi-State in La Crosse-David Gale places 6th and Trevor Hanson 8th in their weight class for the Thunderbirds, Portage 18th in D-1 with Spencer Shier 9th at 285, Mauston 3rd in D-2 with Colin Dolata 2nd and Spencer Davies 3rd, River Valley 6th in D-2 with Seth Liegel the champ at 152 while Zach Koch had a fifth place finish, Adams 11th in D-2 with Trenton Mc Manus, Cole Clark and Trevor Mc Manus all earning fifth place finishes, Weston-Ithaca 3rd in D-3 with Atticus Sharp 3rd and Hunter Dischler and Wyatt Seep had 7th place efforts, Royall places 6th in D-3 with Christian Moore the champ at 220, Hillsboro 16th in D-3

Sauk-Prairie 7th at the Mid-States Invite at UW-Whitewater-Caleb Sisbach places 3rd with Austin Powell, Brandon Sprecher and Jared Schaaf all place 5th for the  Eagles.

Wisconsin Dells 42nd place at the On The Water Invite at UW-Oshkosh-no place-winners for Dells.

Boys Basketball: Poynette 47 Reedsburg 45-Poynette rallies from three down after three quarters to win. Nate Runde had 14 points for the 6-3 Beavers.

River Valley 74 Wisconsin Heights 63-Tayt Caraway scores 20 points and Adam Mueller 15 for the 7-2 BLackhawks who have now won five in a row.

Adams 48 Hillsboro 41 in OT at Reedsburg-Adams outscores Hillsboro 7-0 in the extra period. Hillsboro just 4-13 at the foul line. Max Stockwell and Brandon Stanek score ten each for the 3-5 Tigers in defeat.

Girls Basketball: Sauk-Prairie 51 Westfield 48-Sauk improves to 5-2 overall after winning just three games all of last season.

Wisconsin Heights 44 River Valley 39-River Valley scores only 14 first half points as they fallt o 3-5 overall. Laura Schmidt scores 14 points in defeat for the Blackhawks.

Boys Swimming: Sauk-Prairie-Wisconsin Heights coop wins the team title at the Sauk-Prairie Invite. Bryan Frosch and Andrew Meng each win two individual events for Sauk and Sauk’s 200 Medley Relay team also won a title.
