Boys Hockey: Badger North-Baraboo-Portage vs Reedsburg-Wisconsin Dells at RACA in Reedsburg at 7 PM-Baraboo’s coop squad edged the Sauk-Prairie Coop 3-2 on Friday, rallying from 2-0 down, to win their Badger North opener with Griffin Nicksic scoring the game-winner with about four and a half minutes left and Sean Mc Cutchin had 26 saves, the Baraboo group is scoringĀ four goals per game with Adam Stanton’s seven goals and TJ Laux 12 points leading the way but Baraboo has allowed only six goals in four games with Baraboo-Portage 3-1 overall, RWD is off to a 5-1 start and they’ve scored eight goals per game over the last three and they have ten different players that have scored goals this season with Cortland Maxfield, Matt Olson and Jordan Bill all with ten points or more already this season, RWD is also allowing only three goals per game and no more than four in any single game, this is the league opener for RWD with a 7 PM face-off tonight at RACA in Reedsburg.
Sauk-Prairie Coop at Stevens Point Pacelli at 7 PM-The Sauk group fell to 2-5 overall with a tough loss to Baraboo’s Coop 3-2 on Friday and the Eagles will be looking to snap a three-game losing skid tonight against a Pacelli group that is 1-3 overall on the season.
Girls Hockey: Badger Thunder hosts Viroqua at 7:30 PM at the Pierce Park Pavillion in Badger Conference girls hockey-both teams are 0-3 in league play and the Thunder notched their first win Saturday 3-2 over the Appleton United team after an 0-5 start with Jamie Dutton busy in goal with 44 saves for the locals. the Thunder have scored three goals or less in each of the six games this season but they’ve also allowed only seven goals in their last three contests, Sun Prairie’s coop and the Stoughton Coop share the league lead in the Badger Conference at 3-0.
Wrestling: Badger North-Portage at Sauk-Prairie at 7:30 PM-Sauk won their conference opener 46-26 at Reedsburg Friday and Caleb Sisbach and Austin Fjoser won titles for the Eagles at Sun Prairie’s Invite Saturday and the Eagles also have a dual win over Sun Prairie, this is Portage’s Badger North opening dual tonight with the Warriors sixth in their pool with no first’s at the Dellls Duals Saturday at Chula Vista.
De Forest opens the Badger North season on the road vs Mount Horeb-Barneveld who walloped Waunakee in their league opener last week.
Weston-Ithaca at Sparta tonight in non-conference action
Girls Basketball: Reedsburg at Wisconsin Rapids-The Beavers look to rebound from Friday’s 49-45 loss in Baraboo with Reedsburg 1-1 overall including a 42-35 win over Portage. Beth Maenpaa is scoring 20 points per game for Reedsburg but the Beavers have turned it over 20 plus tmes in each game. Rapids is 3-1 on the season and have a strong inside game.
Portage at Adams-Friendship-The Portage girls look to end a three-game losing skid with the Warriors 1-4 overall. Portage is getting strong play from Freshman Caitlyn Hibner who has led them in scoring in four of the five games. Adams is off to a 5-1 start and the Green Devils rallied Saturday to knock off previously unbeaten Dodgeville, putting three players in double figures.
Poynette at Wisconsin Dells-It’s the first game action for the Dells girls since a 33-31 win over Tomah on December 3rd. Dells is 3-2 overall with two straight wins over Lancaster and Tomah in low scoring games after Dells started the year 1-2 with higher scoring games, Coach Monte Mattei feels his team’s defense is developing nicely, Poynette is 1-3 to start the season.
Boys Basketball: Marshfield at Baraboo-Baraboo tries to snap a three-game losing skid tonight and they’re looking for some offense as well, Baraboo is averaging only 26 points per game in the 1-4 start to their season and they’ve been under 30 points in four of the five games, turnovers have plagued the T-Birds and they experienced a nine-minute scoreless stretch in the second half Saturday in a 45-27 loss at Portage, Saturday’s game was though one of the best defensive efforts for Baraboo this season, Marshfield brings a 2-2 record to the Melvin Huth gymnasium tonight for a 7:30 PM game.
Wisconsin Dells at Reedsburg-Dells is 6-0 and the state ranked Chiefs have won every game by eight points or more and have topped 70 points four times already, they’ve had three different leading scorers and three have hit 20 points already this season-MJ Delmore, Shane Wimann and Mike Dickman, and all three are averaging in double figures, Reedsburg is 3-1 overall and coming off a 47-45 loss to Mount Horeb after winning close games vs Mauston and De Forest in the previous two games, Capreace Salinas is scoring over 20 per game for the Beavers but he was the only double figure scorer in the Mount Horeb loss, it’s also 80′s night at RAHS as the two teams will wear uniforms similar to the ones worn by their schools at that time with 80′s music and factoids and fashion part of a unique night in Reedsburg starting at 7:30 PM.
Mc Farland at Portage-Mc Farland from the Rock Valley Conference brings a 3-3 record to Portage to face the 2-3 Warriors who beat Baraboo 45-27 in their last game on Saturday behind the strong inside play of Daniel Beck with 16 points.

Boys Swimming: Baraboo at Sauk-Prairie-Wisconsin Heights Coop in Badger North at 6 PM, Sauk finished ahead of Baraboo at Saturday’s Fort Atkinson Invite and this is the first conference dual for both squads.
Gymnastics: Mount Horeb at Sauk-Prairie at 6 PM in the first Badger North dual for both teams.
