Girls Basketball: Badger North-Reedsburg at Baraboo-Both teams are 1-0 in the conference and 1-0 overall with Badger North wins last weekend, Baraboo routed Sauk-Prairie 61-37 in their opener with a big final three quarters as they forced Sauk into 30 plus turnovers with a big rebound edge as well with Sam Terry and Emily Brinker combining for 41 points, Reedsburg struggled with shooting and turnovers but played strong defense and won 42-35 over Portage in their first game with Beth Maenpaa scoring 19 for the Beavers, Reedsburg won two of three vs Baraboo last year including a memorable triple overtime win in Middleton in the Sectional Semi-Finals which helped Reedsburg make their first ever State Tournament appearance, Baraboo is rated number seven in the State’s D-2 Coaches Poll this week and they host Reedsburg tonight with pre-game coverage around 7:15 PM and game time set for 7:30 PM on 99.7 FM and AM 740-WRPQ Radio with Scott Pionke and Kristi Feld on the call, the TV replay of this game can be seen Saturday morning around 9:30 AM on My Family TV/43 following the Baraboo-Waunakee boys replay at 8 AM!
Sauk-Prairie at Portage-Sauk improved to 2-2 overall with a 55-44 win over River Valley Tuesday with Ali Roach and Lindsey Sauer combining for 29 points but the Eagles are 0-1 in the conference with a 61-37 loss to Baraboo, Portage lost their league opener at Reedsburg 42-35 and the Warriors girls are 1-3 overall with two straight losses.
Mount Horeb at De Forest-Mount Horeb lost to Waunakee in their conference opener with De Forest playing their first league game of the season tonight.
Scenic Bluffs Conference-Hillsboro at New Lisbon-Hillsboro is 2-0 overall with wins over Riverdale and Mauston

Bangor at Necedah
Ridge and Valley Conference-Wauzeka at Weston-Weston won their league opener last week over North Crawford

Boys Basketball: South-Central Conference-Nekoosa at Wisconsin Dells-Dells won big 73-39 over Westfield in their SCC opener Tuesday and the Chiefs, ranked third in the D-3 boys coaches poll, are 5-0 overall for the season and they’ve scored 65 points or more in each game this season, Nekoosa is 0-1 in the conference with a loss to Mauston.
Adams at Mauston-Adams won their first league game since 2010-2011 Tuesday over Wautoma while Mauston is 1-0 in the SCC with a win over Nekoosa and this is Mauston’s tenth game of the season already tonight.
Westfield at Wautoma-Both teams are 0-1 in the SCC
Southwest Wisconsin Conference-Platteville at River Valley-River Valley is 1-0 in the league with a 48-34 win over Lancaster last week, this will be Platteville’s league opener.

Boys Hockey: Baraboo Coop at Sauk-Prairie Coop at 7 PM at SPARC in Sauk City-Baraboo’s squad is 2-1 overall with wins over Beaver Dam and Sparta with a 3-1 loss to Stoughton, Baraboo has allowed only four goals on the young season, the Sauk Coop is 2-4 overall with wins over Marshfield and Aquinas and losses to West Salem, Tomah, MG and Wisconsin Rapids, Sauk has put 25 goals on the board in six games, ten of them from Luke McElhenie, but they’ve allowed 29 goals so far, top goalie Koty Ranum and defenseman Jarrett Schoepp both may return to the lineup for Sauk tonight which should help the defensive numbers, Badger North boys hockey consists of just four teams this year so just six league games are on each team’s schedule, the De Forest coop is not playing a varsity schedule this year due to an insufficient amount of players.
Wrestling: Badger North-Sauk-Prairie at Reedsburg-This is the league opener for Sauk who sent two groups of wrestlers to varsity competitions with six individual titles at the tourney in Campbellsport, the Eagles shared the Badger North title a year ago with Jared Schaaf a returning State qualifier, Reedsburg placed fifth at the Reedsburg Invite Saturday with Wyatt Rabuck winning a title for the Beavers who also lost their league opening dual vs Mount Horeb-Barneveld 34-31 on Tuesday. Nate Erbs is a returning State qualifier for Reedsburg.
