Boys Basketball: Badger North-Waunakee 55 Baraboo 21-Barabvoo trailed 35-4 at halftime and converted only six field goals in their conference opener with the Thunderbirds now 1-3 overall with Waunakee 3-0 to start the season. Will Decorah scored 17 points for Waunakee and Ty Schlichtman and Matt Meyer scored seven points each for Baraboo.
Reedsburg 58 De Forest 53-Beavers win their league opener and improve to 3-0 overall, Reedsburg was up nine in the first period but De Forest rallied to go up seven at halftime, Reedsburg closed the game with a 5-0 run as De Forest falls to 0-2 in the conference, Capreace Salinas scores 20 for Reedsburg including the go-ahead basket with 30 seconds left and Nate Runde adds 15 with Josiah Owen scoring 16 for the Norskies.
Mt Horeb 60 Sauk-Prairie 46-Sauk loses their conference opener despite leading 28-14 after one period with the Eagles scoring only 18 points the rest of the night, Simon Breunig scores eight points to lead a balanced Sauk offense while Shane Collins and Alex Collins scored 14 points each for Mount Horeb, now 2-0 in the league. Sauk is 1-3 overall.
Non-Conference-Monroe 41 Portage 38-Stian Anderson with 11 points and Matt Bare ten for 1-3 Portage who hosts Baraboo Saturday night on 99.7 FM and AM 740-WRPQ Radio.
South-Central Conference-Wisconsin Dells 73 Westfield 39 as the Chiefs led 36-5 after one quarter and 51-15 by halftime, Shane Wimann and MJ Delmore each scored 19 for the 5-0 Dells Chiefs who win their league opener.
Mauston 61 Nekoosa 46-Joel Heesch scores 29 for Mauston who is now 5-3 overall
Adams-Friendship 41 Wautoma 32-1st conference win for Adams since the 2010-2011 season
Girls Basketball: Sauk-Prairie 55 River Valley 44-Freshman Ali Roach scores 15 points and Lindsey Sauer 14 for the Sauk girls who led 36-23 by halftime, Sauk-Prairie is now 2-1 overall.
Waupun 53 Portage 49-Portage led after three quarters but Waupun rallies as Portage falls to 1-3 overall, Freshman Caitlyn Hibner scores 18 for Portage in the loss.
Hillsboro 53 Mauston 38-Hillary Stanek scores 20 and Ali Brey 17 for 2-0 Hillsboro who outscored Mauston 20-8 at the foul line, Carly Johnson leads Mauston with 12 points but the Golden Eagles are now 1-4 overall.
Wrestling: Badger North-Mount Horeb-Barneveld 34 Reedsburg 31-Reedburg winners included Dylan Le Moine, Nick Noye, Wyatt Rabuck, Nate Erbs, Nick Sieber, Ty Brandt and Aaron Lopp, it was the conference opener for both squads.
Non-Conference-Sauk-Prairie 51 Sun Prairie 27-Sauk winners included Austin Fjoser, Austin Powell, Brandon Sprecher, Gavin Halverson, Alec Bader, Eddie Smith, Kyle Herbrand, Luke Vills with Caleb Sisbach winning via forfeit.
Wisconsin Dells 42 Madison La Follette 30-Dells winners included Justin Fuller, Bryan Ugalde, Mason Weber, Max Obois, Willie Vandenlangenberg, John Mor and Jake Shirley with Brian Braun and Andrew Mc Clyman getting forfeit wins.
Hockey: Wis Rapids 6 Sauk-Prairie Boys Coop 4-Sauk falls to 2-4 overall and they had four different goal scorers.
Stoughton Coop 2 Badger Thunder 1 in OT in Badger Conference Girls Hockey-Spencer Natzke scored the early goal for the Thunder and goalie Jamie Dutton was strong with 36 saves but the Thunder falls to 0-5 overall and 0-3 in the conference.
Boys Swimming: Sauk-Prairie 1st, Baraboo 3rd at the five-team Badger North Relays in Waunakee-Baraboo’s 400 Medley Relay team of Brian Cormican, Matt Garcia, Tanner Craker and Connor Drexler took first place along with the 300 Backstroke Relay of Cormican, Tyler Fiebig and Sam Trotter and the 400 Freestyle Relay of Drexler, Trotter, Craker and Dan O’Rourke.
